Ouisie 3.jpgHouston is my hometown by birth and by way of Wharton, Texas, mother’s home, and Ft. Bend Country, my father’s provenance, where I learned to appreciate country life and small town living.  Favorite memories involve cooking in my mother’s and grandmother’s kitchens, the latter supplying the Louisiana influence.  Cookbooks were read with relish (pardon the pun) and recipes exchanged.  Food opinions, and there were many, were offered freely.  Mine is of southern heritage integrated with a lifetime of experimentation with different foods both American regional and ethnic origins.
